"I chose CrossFit based on previous information I had received word of mouth. My main goal was to get back into running shape to better perform as a Marine. I had three surgeries in a one-year span and I was having a hell of a time getting back to the fitness level required of a Major in the USMC.
I had pretty much done everything from long distance running to lifting weights. Cardiovascular fitness is a must in the Marine Corps and running is the bench mark, I had never liked to run and focused mostly on weight lifting making it even harder to carry the bulk I had packed on. I noticed that most people are doing the same style of workout no matter what level of fitness or training objectives for years with little gains.
Joining Polo's' style of training with the competitive nature of CrossFit is a combination that has me seeing gains on a weekly basis. Polo pushes you to do your best but he lets the group ensure that each person pushes themselves to their limits and beyond. He is demanding and exacting but he is able to read his students and decide what "makes you tick" in order to push beyond your self imposed limitations.
I have decided to train with CrossFit CFT because I have seen significant gains. My goal was a 21 minute three-mile run on my PFT and I honestly was doubtful I would ever get to that level again. After four-months of Cross Fit I actually ran a 20:53, it has been 6 years since I have seen a time that low. I was skeptical that such short workouts would work but boy was I wrong. Like I have said time and time again, "The gym aint Sh#$ compared to CrossFit" and Polo is the key!!"

"There is one reason why CrossFit is the fastest growing fitness program in the world, it works! It not only clearly defines the attributes of fitness, but each Workout of the Day (WOD) is designed to help you develop those attributes. As a 40 year old husband, father, full-time employee, Marine Corps reservist, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner, I don’t have a second to waste. I need to train smart! Polo Lopez and CrossFit CFT provide a winning combination of instruction and intense training. Every training session is not just a great workout, but a practice session where you can continuously learn and improve your technique. The results are clear, after 4 months of training at CrossFit CFT, I reduced my “Fran” (21-15-9 Thrusters & Pull-ups) time from 12:23 to 7:01! I could not have made these improvements at any other gym or with any other personal trainer. CrossFit CFT is the real deal. If you want to hang out and bullshit in between sets of flat bench, this isn’t the place for you. But if you want real results and first rate instruction, then join CrossFit CFT today."

"I spent years trying to workout at a regular gym but I was never able to significantly improve on my shape or fitness. Boredom set-in quickly and it was very hard to consistently try to go to work out. I even tried getting a personal trainer but that was not cost effective. That went on for about the last 10 years and I ran into a neighbor that was doing CrossFit out of his garage so I decided to try it. I was very excited to see a workout program that is not boring and was very time effective. I started training but my neighbor was not a certified trainer and I started to get some injuries due to improper form and overloading my workouts. After my neighbor moved, I needed to find a new place to work out and I found Polo’s CrossFit CFT gym. The difference has been night and day. Polo is able to gauge my fitness level on different exercise and is able to scale appropriately so I do not strain myself. He is also able to pick out improper technique and since starting training in September of 2008, I have had all my injuries heal and have noticed my performance increase dramatically. My shoulder press went from 115 lbs. to 150 lbs from August 2008 to December 2008. My dead lift went from 275 lbs at 3 reps to 320 lbs at 3 reps in a period of 1.5 months. Polo also helped with my nutrition, which I never had help with before joining CrossFit CFT. My body weight and body fat as reduced from 216 lbs and 22% body fat to 209 lbs and 20% body fat. Not only is the training great and instruction great but the members are very friendly and it’s an encouraging and fun environment. Finally I wanted to mention that since starting my training with Polo at CrossFit CFT I have noticed improvements in my everyday activities. I can play pickup games of basketball longer without getting tired. I can move furniture much easier and can do yard work without getting tired. I will continue to use CrossFit for the rest of my life and continue to train at CrossFit CFT."

Well I chose CrossFit because I was fat, totally out of shape, and had just decided i wanted to fulfill my life long dream of becoming an army ranger. I needed something new, I needed a system that would break the shackles from comfortable mundane workouts i had been doing for the past eleven years. My story at Croosfit CFT starts something like this. I was Working at a gym in Franklin a year ago as a hospitality specialist, AKA towel bitch. I was in the bathroom one day cleaning the sinks and mirrors when I overheard a conversation between one of the trainers and a member. The trainer was talking about his own CrossFit gym he was starting. I had no idea what CrossFit was, but what he had to say hit the nail on the head. It was exactly what I was looking for. I stuck around for about a half an hour cleaning the sink next to them till I started to get some weird looks. I waited outside the locker room for the trainer to walk out. When he did, I stopped him and explained that I had overheard the conversation and asked if i could stop by and give it a shot. My first WOD was actually not a WOD at all, it was just the crossfit worm-up, but I was crushed, and hooked! For the next two months Polo gave me personal training like I had never had before, it was awesome. He was dedicated, didn't waste any time telling me where i needed to improve and was positive. Over the past year I have trained at CrossFit CFT. Through this past year I have lost forty two pounds and I am stronger than I have ever been. Although I have made improvements I hadn't had an opportunity to put any of it into a real life scenario, until today. Now I know that this instance is no big deal, but it is for me. I was getting ready for the eight hundred or so meter run in class today and decided I would push a little harder, and see where I came out in the pack. I knew I couldn't beat one guy, but I did know that I could give the others a run for their money. We ran the first four hundred together at a brisk pace. During this i noticed that the breathing and pose instruction Polo had drilled into my head was now natural to me. As we turned the corner in the school parking lot we could the see the home stretch. It was a straight four hundred meters that was slightly down hill. After rounded the corner everyone picked up the pace not trying to be bested by the other. This is when I decided to see what I had. I picked up my own pace and went for it. I was right behind the number one man and soon realized we were by our selves, there were no other footsteps to be heard but ours. When i finished I realized I had come in close second and had beaten everyone else by a mile. Now I realize it sucks to post a story I didn't win in, but I hate running. In fact I am that guy that always comes in last, crawling across the finish line sucking wind, and looking like an idiot. My training had paid off in a real life scenario. After today's run I had a little time to reflect on just how fortunate I am to have CrossFit CFT, and more importantly, a coach like Polo. Polo's instruction is second to none, and the best thing is we get it everyday, in every class. If you are looking for the best workout of your life with first rate coaching try CrossFit CFT.
