Playing with Handstands. Carissa and I decided to reach back into the early years of CrossFit and do the wod "walk 100 feet on your hands for time." We did a scaled version of 50 feet, but first we practiced with some Handstands. Carissa did some obstacle walking, while I did my best just not to fall and keep going in one direction. The beauty of CrossFit is that as long you stay focused on Nutrition, Training, and Recovery you will improve. I started CrossFit with a desire to learn gymnastics and be able to walk on my hands. When I started learning to just do Handstands my Shoulder Press PR was a mere 110 pounds and I could barely do a proper Handstand. As my press PR has increased so has my ability to maintain a Handstand. Now, I can walk on my hands. Age is not a factor. Anyone of any age can improve and reach goals. All you need is desire and CrossFit. Our friend Freddy Camacho from CrossFit One World wrote a little something about CrossFit athletes over 40. Read Age means Nothing and the comments section posted under his article.
